Homelink At Home
ARE YOU IN NEED OF SOME RESPITE?
Homelink at Home is a home respite service for older people, including people with dementia and those encountering social isolation. This respite provides carers with time to take a break from their demanding role.
The 1:1 home respite visit will take place in the client’s home for a minimum of 2 hours morning or afternoon. These visits will be on a regular weekly basis.
During the visit the client will benefit from: social interaction, psychological support, a mobility/exercise programme including armchair activities and an engaging activity programme aimed at providing entertainment and promoting wellbeing such as quizzes, crosswords, mindfulness, board games, arts and crafts and other activities as appropriate. Personal care will not be provided during the visit.
Whilst having a break is doubtlessly good for the carer, it also means that the client will be able to enjoy new experiences and build a strong relationship with the Home Respite Worker and have a change of routine.
In addition to the support the service offers to carers it will also benefit those clients who live alone and are experiencing increased levels of loneliness and social isolation.
